100 years and a black president, do we still need the NAACP or is it time to move on?

hey,
Yes in a way. But it shouldn't just be for "colored" people. It should be a organization that looks for the advancement for all in our society and further advances man kind. Of course this will only happen in the U.S. since we're the melting pot of the world.

Yes,
I think we still do and I also think that it should keep the same name. Do you know how long people have struggled and what the name means to people. In Mississippi they still have segregated proms! Until Morgan Freemon went there this year and paid for the school's prom if the kids could have it together. Some white parents were so mad that they had their "white" prom instead.

NO,
When are we going to stop blaming white people for all our problems? We need to have personal responsablity. Slavery is over we have a black president, now is the time to leave that old civil rights movement and do something new. Bill Cosby was on the right road and you folks shut him down.

if,
you do you research you'll learn that white people weren't the first people to start slavery. It started with black men (african) selling or trading there women for goods and other things which lead to white people taking control if it then making it what it became today. So in conclusion I agree with the above post
